Xbox One is not just used as a gaming console, but many use it to stream movies and TV shows as well. Netflix is one of the most popular apps that people like to use on Xbox One. If you too are watching your favorite content from Netflix via Xbox One, then you might have experienced issues with Netflix one time or another. If not, then it could happen in the future, so you should remain ready to fix the problem of Netflix not working on Xbox One.
It is important for you to check whether you meet the minimum streaming requirements or not. You need to check this before moving onto the solutions part. If you have confirmed that you meet all the requirements, then you should move onto the solutions part
Solution to Netflix not working on Xbox One:
Solution 1: Check your internet connection speed
- For this, you need to go to Netflix.com followed by ‘Settings’.
- Click the option that says, ‘Check your network’.
Netflix is going to check your internet speed by reaching Netflix servers. If your internet speed meets the Netflix requirements, then you will get a message accordingly.
Solution 2: Restart Home Network
Here is how you can do it:
- Unplug your Xbox and modem/router for half a minute.
- Plug back each device.
- Turn on the modem/router and let all the indicators get stable.
- Then, turn on the Xbox console.
- Try to stream anything from Netflix.
If this doesn’t work, then move onto the next solution:
Solution 3: Connect the console to the modem directly
If you have connected your Xbox console to the internet wirelessly, then you need to bypass the router and directly connect Xbox Console to the modem. If Netflix is working this way, then the problem could be in the router. You can connect Xbox One to the modem by using an Ethernet Cable. You will have to unplug the modem, then connect Xbox One and wait for 30 seconds before plugging the modem back again. Once all the necessary lights on modem get stable, only then, you should turn on the Xbox console.
Solution 4: Restore ISP default settings
In case you are using a VPN, then disable it and directly connect to the home network. However, if you have switched to a custom DNS setting, then reset your device to get DNS automatically.
Solution 5: Improve Wi-Fi signal
To do this, you need to follow below-mentioned steps:
- Find a new location for your router, if the signal strength is poor in the current location.
- Keep away all other electronic gadgets from the router as those can cause interference in the signal.
- Place your router at some height because keeping it on the floor could cause problems in the signal.
Solution 6: Consult the person who has set up your home network
If you’ve tried all five solutions, but nothing worked out for you, then you need to get in touch with the person who set up your home network. Tell him to set up your home network properly.
