Willem Dafoe will give his voice to Ryuk the Shinigami in “Death Note” and movie will be coming to Netflix by next year.
William Dafoe has sealed the deal to voice Ryuk the Shinigami in Adam’s Wingard’s “Death Note”. This is not the first time that he is been doing this but he had already given his voice for Finding Nemo(2003) and Fantastic Mr.Fox(2009).Now in the middle of Justice league, he has signed the deal to voice in Death Note which is a Japanese Magna and will be debuted next year on Netflix TV as reported by Mashable.
“Death Note” is an adaptation of famous Japanese comics which is written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The story is about a high school student named Light Yagami who when encounters supernatural notebook gets ability to kill anyone by writing their name while picturing their face. He becomes so drenched in power that he starts killing everyone whom he found unworthy so catch the “Death Note” after downloading Netflix App which is available in playstore and Apple stores too.
It is produced by Roy Lee (The Ring) and Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes) with Jason Hoffs and Masi Oka. Jonathan Eirich and John Powers Middleton are executive producing along with Miri Yoon and Brendan Ferguson.
This project was initially kick started at Warner Bros before moving to Netflix.
Further, Dafoe has been Oscar nominee for Spider-Man and John Carter. Recently he was recently seen in John Wick and The Fault In Our Stars and soon will be seen The Great Wall.
