Netflix New documentary based on Steve Aoki DJ cum musician showcases his complicated relationship with his father and what hardships he went through while attaining success. It is hitting Netflix on Aug 19th.
Steve Aoki, an American electro house musician. He is a DJ as well a music executive. Back in 2012, he was designated as highest grossing dance artist in North America. This person has built his own empire.
He loves music and his love for music developed during his college days at UC Santa Barbara. There he majored in women’s studies and sociology but he simultaneously started his own record label, Dim Mak. He initiated the EDM scene about 10 years and he’s gone to grab a Grammy nomination and start his own line of eye wear.
Netflix’s new documentary which is based on the life of Steve Aoki shows a different side of Steve Aoki, says filmmaker Justin Krook. ‘I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead” lets viewers experience Aoki’s family life and shows how his father’s spotlight motivated him to be in the spotlight too.
“I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead” debuts Friday on Netflix and Netflix Activate lets you watch this amazing story. The story is about the complicated relationship that Steve and his father share. Rocky Aoki was the father of Steve. He was a showman and daredevil kind of person and Benihana founder. The story displays the emotions and how Benihana restaurant tycoon former Olympian urged Steve to succeed no matter what. It about all ups and down his father went through and things he sacrificed in his life. Films also shower some light on his mother who raised Steve .Unfortunately, Steve gained global success after his father’s death in 2008.
