Netflix brings Indian original series based on novel “Sacred Games”

First Indian original series based on novel “sacred Games” will be produced by Phantom films and drama goes online on Netflix.

Netflix a global provider of streaming films and television series makes it’s move to Indian originals and with this they announced India’s first original series which is based on best-selling novel Sacred Games by Vikram Chandra. It is set in Mumbai, It is said to be partially thriller and partially a true story that digs into the city which has an intricate web of crime, corruption, politics and the spying activities that lies beneath India’s economic system. The story showcases how the rich and one in power, goes to extreme extent for their personal gains.

It bagged several awards like the 2006 Vodafone Crossword Book Award, the novel earned Chandra a million dollar advance from publisher HarperCollins but, the book was not a financial success.
